Description

Climate change exists.

The major signs of change are clear, and extreme weather conditions around the world are becoming increasingly frequent and the Arctic ice is disappearing. The temperature increase can be felt in our everyday lives. These and other phenomena will intensify and have a drastic effect on our living conditions.

African nations are among the lightest polluters, but analysts say they will suffer the most from climate change in their pursuit of water and food security, sustainable development, and political and economic sustainability.

It also argues that there is a need for climate change information in Africa and reviews the status of international climate agreements related to adaptation, mitigation, and compensation.

Our climate is our future. The changes in our environment are disconcerting and raise a few questions ...

· Can we adapt to the impacts of this event on African level?

· How can we interpret these and similar observations?

· To what causes can we attribute the changes?

· What predictions can we possibly make?

· What can we do on regional level?

In this course we will be demystifying climate change and breaking down some myths related to it, we will also discuss the importance of climate action. Then we will dive into climate change induce stressors affecting Africa and analyze their impact. Finally we will dedicate the last section to appreciate Africa's proactive to limate change through discussion around practical adaptation and mitigation projects.

proper info is key towards realising the SDGs. thanks for the insights
The countries of Africa have contributed comparatively little to anthropogenic emissions, yet the continent feels the impacts of global warming in many different ways, with changes in hydroclimate, biodiversity and wildfire dynamics already visible today. These changes happen simultaneously with considerable societal and economic transformations in many countries. To strengthen Africa's response to respond to the threatening realities of Climate change, Sustainable research, projections, and deliberate collaborative actions must be carried out by Government, corporate bodies, institutions and everyone who cares about the future on planet Earth.
I really like this course.
